Terry Pratchett a fost un scriitor englez de fictiune, cunoscut mai ales pentru seria sa de romane fantasy "Discworld". S-a născut pe data de 28 aprilie 1948 în Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire și a crescut în Bucks. A început să scrie când avea doar 13 ani și a publicat primul său roman, "The Carpet People", la vârsta de 23 de ani.
