Oscar Wilde (n.16 octombrie 1854 - d.30 noiembrie 1900) a fost un poet si dramaturg irlandez, unul dintre cei mai cunoscuti si de succes scriitori din lume. El a fost cunoscut pentru lucrarile sale avangardiste si elegante, precum si pentru spiritul sau vesnic critic, care l-a facut sa fie una dintre personalitatile culturale ale vremii.
