Philippa Gregory este un scriitor britanic, născut în Yorkshire în 1952. După ce a absolvit Universitatea din Sussex, a lucrat ca jurnalist aproape 10 ani. La începutul anilor ’80, a devenit profesor de istorie și a început să scrie carti istorice bazate pe documente adevărate și imaginație, ceea ce a fost un succes imens.
