There are many viruses that affect the health of animals, and the field of study related to viruses in animals is known as veterinary virology. Some of these viruses have their own range and infect particular species. There are also some viruses which can affect different species. Veterinary virology focuses on the study of viruses like rhabdoviruses, foot and mouth disease viruses, circoviruses, herpes viruses and retroviruses.
