William Golding
William Golding (1911-1993) a fost un scriitor și profesor englez, cunoscut mai ales pentru romanul sau "Domnul Maimutoilor", care a devenit un bestseller mondial. Născut în Cornwall, Golding a studiat literatură engleză la Oxford, după care a devenit profesor de engleză în diferite școli. În timpul celui de-al Doilea Război Mondial, a servit în Marina Regală Britanică, experiență care avea să-l influențeze profund în scrierile sale ulterioare.
