About the Author:

Hugh Thomas (1931-2017) naci en Windsor, Inglaterra, en 1931. Estudi en Sherborne School, Queen's College, en Cambridge y en la Sorbona de Par s. Trabaj en la Canciller a de 1954 a 1957 y para el Subcomit de Desarme de la ONU por el Reino Unido. Destacado estudioso de la historia, ha sido catedr tico en la Universidad de Reading de 1966 a 1976, en la Graduate School of Contemporary European Studies de 1973 a 1976, en el Centre for Policy Studies de Londres de 1979 a 1991, en la Universidad de Nueva York de la c tedra Rey Juan Carlos I de civilizaci n espa ola en 1995 y en la Universidad de Boston en 1996. All , desde 1997, cumple su labor docente como profesor universitario. Es miembro correspondiente de la Real Academia de la Historia de Madrid y de la Royal Historical Society de Londres.
