Mircea Eliade a fost unul dintre cei mai renumiți și influenți istorici ai religiilor și profesori de filosofie din secolul al XX-lea. Născut în anul 1907 în București, România, Eliade a studiat la Universitatea din București și apoi la Universitatea din Berlin, unde a obținut doctoratul în anul 1933.
