John Grisham este un autor american de romane de mister, avocat și politician. A devenit cunoscut pentru romanele sale politiste care au ca subiect justiția și sistemul de drept. Grisham s-a născut în Jonesboro, Arkansas, în anul 1955 și a studiat dreptul la Universitatea Mississippi. După absolvire, a început să lucreze ca avocat și s-a implicat în activități politice, devenind membru al Parlamentului Mississippi în anii 1980.
